Wood-Plastic and Natural Fiber Composites 2008 is the fifth annual executive conference produced and hosted by Principia Partners, globally recognized for unrivaled industry knowledge. We are drawing executives from raw material suppliers, equipment and building products manufacturers, distributors, retailers, government and university R&D organizations, and contractors to share their perspectives on the trends and developments in wood plastic composites, vinyl and other building products. This conference is a unique forum to learn and to network with executives and other key people from around the globe in the Wood-Plastic & Natural Fiber Composites (WPC) and vinyl industry, and to discover your company’s most promising commercial and technical opportunities. Lead speakers for the conference include Ronald Kaplan, CEO of Trex Company, and Mike Hutfless, CEO of Sensibuilt Building Solutions. Mr. Kaplan will kick off the conference with a presentation on how the outdoor living trend is transforming consumers’ backyards into beautiful outdoor living space. Mr. Hutfless will kick off the second day of the conference with a 30,000 foot view of the trends, developments and the reasons for the spectacular growth of cellular vinyl in outdoor building products. The first day will focus on the growing demand for customized outdoor living space and the effect on the supply chain. Customization means more decking, railing and trim colors, textures and styles; more railing baluster, lighting and material options; accessories; shade structures; etc. When customers want more options, manufacturers broaden and deepen product lines, and the end result is SKU proliferation, which presents many challenges to the supply chain. Industry executives, representing all points in the value chain will address these issues and how manufacturers, distributors, dealers and contractors can better work together to meet the growing demand for customized outdoor living space. Day one will finish with discussions by board members from leading industry associations on the benefits of establishing a deck contractor education, training, and certification program. The second day of the conference will feature several themes including the growth of cellular vinyl building products, the latest developments on green building and the effect on the demand for plastic-based exterior building products, and technological developments in WPCs in Europe. We’ll also explore developments in new OEM coating technologies that enhance and improve product weatherability, scratch resistance, and color fade protection. The conference will end with presentations and a panel discussion on the North American fence industry. Business leaders will present information on the performance of new WPC fence products that were introduced in 2006 and 2007, as well as the new, dark colored vinyl fence products. 2008 Full Program Sponsor:
